Red Cabbage and Apples (Serves 8)
Kay Forsythe's grandmother made a dish like this!

Ingredients
1 small onion, sliced thin
4 cups shredded red cabbage1 cup water or vegetable stock
2 sour apples, sliced thin
3 tablespoons vinegar
1 tablespoon brown sugar
¼ teaspoon allspice
2 cloves
salt & pepper

How To Cook
1. Brown onion in oil.
2. Add the red cabbage, water or vegetable stock, and sour apples.
3. Cook slowly for about 1 ½ hours.
4. When nearly done, add vinegar, brown sugar, allspice, cloves, salt and pepper together.
5. Remove cloves before serving.
