Peanut Butter Cookies
What's more fun than making peanut butter cookies with children. This is Joyce Forsythe's mom's recipe. The kids love making the fork designs on the top. You press the fork on the cookie in one direction and then lift it and press it on going the other direction to make a sort of tick-tack-toe design.

Ingredients
½ cup shortening (part butter)
½ cup peanut butter
½ cup sugar
½ cup brown sugar, packed
1 egg
1 ¼ cups flour
¾ teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon baking powder
¼ teaspoon salt

How To Cook
1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
2. Cream shortening and peanut butter. Add sugar slowly.
3. Sift flour, baking soda and baking powder.
4. Beat egg and add the sifted ingredients.
5. Roll with hands into little balls which you'll flatten with a fork dipped in flour.
6. Bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes.
