Almond Cookies

Ingredients
3 cups of all purpose flour (sifted all purpose flour)
1 teaspoon of baking soda
½ teaspoon salt
1 ¼ cups sugar
1 cup vegetable shortening (oil)
¼ cup oil butter softened
2 teaspoon almond extract
1 egg

1 egg blended with a fork to spread on top

How To Cook
1. Sift together flour, baking soda and salt.
2. Cream butter, add shortening and sugar and one egg.
3. Beat in almond extract, and mix until smooth.
4. Add sifted dry ingredients.
5. Mix well.
6. Roll into about one inch balls.
7. Place on ungreased cookie sheet, about 2 inches apart.
8. Use thumb to press an indentation in each cookie and then beat remaining egg and brush on each cookie.
9. Bake in preheated oven at 350° degrees for 10 minutes or less.
10. Makes about 5 or 6 dozen.
